Pirates! was always certainly one of my favorite games of computer days of old and I used to be trying forward to this update. It is enough but not outstanding. At it is best it captures the enjoyable of the unique and runs flawlessly. If you wish to re-seize this basic for contemporary Macs, that is the game to get. Nevertheless, do not expect a re-imagining of this once great title. Nothing has been added to make this a greater game. In fact, the additions make it worse. Three game faults sadly stand out among the many meager modifications which might be made to the original. First, the sections that might have you 'sneak' by towns are troublesome and pointless - an addition to the sport that adds nothing but boredom and an pointless exercise in key pressing. Second, the frequent sections that have you ever 'dance' with a governor's daughter is equally repetitive and dull. And third, the worst of all, the important thing presses that the 'dance' sequences require demand a keyboard with a keypad so as to complete properly. So, laptop owners and iMac owners with keypad-much less keyboards beware. The parts of the game that higher deserved to be updated, ship battles and sword fights, stays mainly unchanged from the original. Still despite these key faults, I used to be glad to lastly see a model of Pirates! that may run on newer Macs. If only developers did the same for some other traditional games of the past.
